If you’ve ever heard the phrase “that’s too many points” you should know they were referring to weight watchers, the infamous point system. It all starts with your daily allowance which is converted into a point chart to make adding calories easier. Depending on your weight, age, height, and gender you’ll range somewhere between 18-30. The weight watchers program provides material to easily exchange calories and fat into a corresponding point. Though, you can eat anything you choose on weight watcher’s it does encourage a sensible diet consisting of healthy foods, exercise and a positive attitude. Weight Watchers can also be flexible, which makes it easy to follow for people that need flexibility in their diet. Recently they introduced the core plan into their program. The core plan is a series of complex carbohydrates and lean meats to keep the body fueled and energized while reducing calorie intake and refined carbs. Weight Watcher’s also offers in-person group meetings and weigh-ins which are the cornerstone of the Weight Watchers diet plan. The food plan requires strict calorie control, but it does not require the purchase of prepackaged food like many other commercialized diets.

The cost of weight watcher varies across locations. Generally there is a $20 admission fee, and than $9 additional each week. Overall you’ll be paying $36 a month.
Overall Impression Of Weight Watchers

Over the years weight watchers has been criticized for it’s claims on flexibility while its rather time consuming figuring out points for every single thing you put in your mouth. However, it is still thriving despite any negativity, this is, because it does work for people and it has and will continue to transform people into making wiser choices about their food. Often we develop this mentality that food can heal our emotions, it’s our comfort from a stressful day. This development is how we begin the worse habit of over indulging. I find the support groups are really the key to success of Weight Watchers, it allows the members to reflect on food, dieting, emotions, feelings, and overall the reasons behind overeating. Not everyone needs a support group which is why I would say it’s not for everyone. Overall it teaches better eating habits and a way to continuously live that way.
